New channel

Booking.com and Airbnb messaging in one inbox with everything else

A guest who booked through Booking.com or Airbnb still writes to you — about the arrival time, the parking, the extra bed — and that message lands in a platform extranet nobody keeps open. Greetio is bringing those conversations into the same inbox as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Telegram, Viber and website chat, answered from your own rules and reservation data. This is in build and rolls out platform by platform, strictly within each marketplace's API access and rules. Everything described here already runs on the six channels that are live.

What an OTA extranet costs you every week

The booking is done. Everything after it still decides the review.

Another login nobody keeps open

Messages sit in an extranet that gets checked once a day, at best. The guest experiences that as being ignored by the hotel, not by the platform.

Response time is scored by the platform

Marketplaces measure how fast you reply and use it in ranking and badges. Slow replies cost visibility, not just goodwill.

The guest history splits in two

The same person books on an OTA and writes on WhatsApp. Two conversations, two contexts, and whoever answers sees only half of it.

The upsell never happens

A guest asking about the sauna a week before arrival is the easiest sale of the month — if anyone reads the message in time.

How OTA messaging will work

Same queue, same knowledge base, same escalation rules.

  1. 1

Connect a platform as its API allows

Each marketplace is added on its own terms and within its own rules. We connect what can be connected properly rather than announcing a list we cannot honour.

  2. 2

    Messages join the single queue

OTA conversations sit next to WhatsApp and Instagram, attached to the same guest profile, so the team answers everything from one place.

  3. 3

The AI answers from your data

Arrival times, parking, breakfast, pets, an extra bed — answered from your knowledge base in the guest's language, with the confidence gates that already run everywhere else.

  4. 4

Requests become tasks and add-ons become revenue

A late arrival becomes an assigned task; a question about the spa becomes a bookable session, with your rules deciding what is offered.

What ships with it

Existing engine, new surface — with the boundaries stated up front.

One queue with every other channel

No separate extranet habit: the OTA conversation is in the inbox your team already watches all day.

Answers grounded in your property

The same knowledge base and gates. If a fact cannot be verified, the reply is held back rather than guessed.

13+ guest languages

OTA traffic is international by definition; guests are answered in their own language from your single knowledge base.

Pre-arrival upsell, on your terms

Services and add-ons offered according to a hotel-side setting rather than an internal ranking.

One profile per guest

The OTA thread and the later WhatsApp message belong to the same person, with one history.

What it will not do

It does not distribute rates or inventory to OTAs — that is a channel manager's job — and it will not work around any marketplace's rules on automated messaging.

A platform extranet versus one inbox

Same messages, very different response time.

Scenario: a message four days before arrival

The guest booked through an OTA and writes inside the platform.

Hello, we arrive Friday around 22:00 — is that ok? And is there parking?
Hello! Yes — reception is staffed until 23:00, so 22:00 is fine, and I've noted your arrival time. Parking is free for guests and does not need booking.
Great. Can we add breakfast for two?
Of course — breakfast is €12 per person, served 08:00–10:30. I've added it to your reservation for both mornings and passed the late arrival to reception.
  • The arrival time became a task for reception four days early, not a surprise at 22:00
  • Parking and breakfast were answered from the property's own rules
  • An add-on was sold inside a booking that had already been made

Illustrative conversation for a channel in build. Each platform is connected within its own API access and messaging rules.

The booking is not the end of the conversation

Hotels treat OTA bookings as finished business and then lose the part that actually shapes the review: the four days before arrival and the three days of the stay. Those messages are already arriving. Putting them in the same inbox as everything else costs nothing operationally and changes both the response-time score the platform gives you and the number of add-ons that get sold before check-in.

  • In build, rolled out platform by platform within each marketplace's rules
  • Same AI, knowledge base, gates and analytics as the live channels
  • Distribution of rates and inventory stays with your channel manager
The extranet was a tab we opened once a day. The guests noticed long before we did.

Booking.com and Airbnb messaging: what people ask

No — it is in build and will roll out platform by platform, depending on each marketplace's API access and rules on automated messaging. Everything described here already works on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Telegram, Viber and website chat.

Booking.com and Airbnb are the two we are working towards first, because they are where the messages actually arrive. We will name a platform when it is connected rather than publishing a wish list — availability depends on API access and marketplace policy, both outside our control.

No. Distributing rates and inventory to OTAs is a channel manager's job and is not part of Greetio. This is about the messages, not the listing.

Platforms differ, and we build inside their rules rather than around them. Where a marketplace restricts automated messaging, the channel operates within that restriction — which is precisely why this ships platform by platform.

Yes. That is much of the value: the person who booked through a platform and later writes on WhatsApp is one guest with one history, not two disconnected conversations.

That is the plan, using the same rule as everywhere else: which add-ons are offered is a hotel-side setting, not an internal ranking. Service booking and payment already work on the live channels today.

Run the live channels and load the knowledge base. Everything OTA messaging will answer with — rules, services, availability — is the same content, so nothing you build now is wasted.
